Smiling Faces Print a Thousand Words, Ronald Yu Reserves a Place in Newport Beach Table Tennis History
Sports brings people together and create harmony. That is the clear message being received from the Equal Challenge Tournament.
Smiling faces very much reflect the significance of the event, as players from different cities and ethnic background competed for two purposes: to play table tennis and to be the next Equal Challenge Champion!
15-year-old Ronald Yu added another title to his collection on the night of Friday October 26, 2012.
It was just two weeks earlier that Yu got second place in Newport Beach Table Tennis Club’s tournament on October 12. What a difference a couple weeks can make! Ronald Yu got the 1st place at the Equal Challenge Tournament and he is our new Champion!
Congratulations Ronald and keep practicing. You are doing a great job!
Outstanding Performance
Ivan Dueñas took the second place, after beating Ronald Yu 3-1, but John Margaritis swooped in to win the tournament! Both gave memorable performance.
John Margaritis won in 5 games (11-8, 9-11, 14-12, 8-11, 12-10)
After the match, Dueñas left a clear message for Margaritis, “Next time I’ll be more aggressive to win! Lucky John!!!”
Final Postions:
Fist Place – Ronald Yu
Second Place – Ivan Dueñas
Thirth Place – John Margaritis
A special thanks to Tong Yu for being a part of this table tennis event!
We would also like to send a big welcome to our newest players, Raphael and Luis.
