Rudy Miranda’s Backhand was on fire on Newport Beach Table Tennis Club!

Rudy Miranda - Equal Challenge Champion

Tom Bazacas, Ryan Louie and Rudy Miranda after playing the Equal Challenge Table Tennis Tournament

Rudy Miranda emerged as the most successful Latin player at the Equal Challenge Table Tennis Tournament, on Wednesday 21st November 2012 in Newport Beach, California.

It was the first time that 6 time World Team member Rudy Miranda and Ryan Louie had met in the Equal Challenge competition.

Both are right handed with excellent table tennis services but that is where the similarity come, Rudy and Ryan have aggressive top-spin, at the end of the match the experience won! Rudy with an unbeatable backhand loop beat Ryan Louie who try his best to get first place.

Unforced Mistakes

“I am happy with the final result”, concluded Rudy Miranda. “However, from my point of view I made to many unforced mistakes but as the match progressed I became more settled and I could control matters.”

Attracted Attention

Fine performances but the US Citizen man to attract the attention was Tim Stephens, with a brand new blade Joola Rossi, 1 express one for backhand and 1 Joola phenix for his forehand purchased from our table tennis store

No USA ranking, he beat Rudy Miranda`s (11-8, 11-6, 9-11, 11-4, 11-7).

Tom Bazacas without any USA Ranking almost beat Rudy Miranda, they got great offensive and defensive points, but the experience of Rudy at the end was more! (11-8, 9-11, 11-6, 8-11, 12-10)
