Peru’s Cesar Beraún, was the surprise winner of the Equal Challenge tittle in Newport Beach California on Friday October 12th.
The 40-year-old had a wonderful game with Ronald Yu before securing the tittle of champion. The score was 3-0, with all games tight (11-9, 12-10, 13-11).
This is the first Newport Beach tittle of note that Cesar Beraún has secured, and we send a heartfelt congratulations to the Peruvian warrior! Do you think Cesar can do a repeat? Leave your comments below!
Tong Yu, a player with many years of experience and with an outstanding sense of play table tennis overcame Cesar Beraún in a five-game series (11-9, 11-6, 13-11, 11-13, 11-9).
